A Long Update

In less than 24 hours, I’ll be back home in California for a little over a week on vacation. It’s my longest vacation in over a year and I’m looking forward to it. All the kids are coming back to town and we’re going with my mom and step-dad to a beach house [...]

RJD2 Minotaur in a China Shop

First there came a ridiculous game about being a china store owning minotaur.

Then there comes a video done by RJD2 (my second favorite musical artist behind BT).

Coincidence? I think not. Also, both RJD2 and BT are coming out with a new album in the next month. YAY!

2010 IGF Finalists

I’ve been a huge, huge fan of indie games for a couple of years now, ever since I really tried them out after Cave Story. I realized that a lot of new ideas can come out of the ether when you don’t have the constraints that big companies do (like the one I work [...]

Games of 2009

Last year I beat 12 games, 11 of which were on the 360, and one (which I had started years ago and finally decided to finish) was on the PS2. I doubt I play enough games in order to accurately assess the best game of the year or anything like that (especially because I [...]

Trials HD DLC

Can’t wait for this to come out. I absolutely love that game. I’ve gotten gold on every single track except two of the tournaments (which take fucking forever and are soooooo unforgiving). Love it to death. Just wish people would play it against me so I could have some competition. [...]

William and Sly

William and Sly is a really good flash game. It’s primarily about exploration, but it’s got pretty good music and ambiance as well. I really enjoyed it. It took me 15 minutes or so to beat, so it’s fairly quick.

Sentry Heatmaps

Not sure how many people will find this awesome, but a guy has been collecting heatmaps based off of TF2 games on his server. On the heatmaps, they he recorded the data of where they were built and how many people they killed in order to get the best positions to put sentries. [...]

Being Sick Sucks

I’ve been sick since around last Saturday or so and it really sucks. It’s not the “I’m going to die oh good god” sick, but it’s just a steady headache, runny nose, stuffy nose (how are those two even possible together?), and tiredness. What sucks even more is my year without really sucks [...]

Mirror’s Edge

Mirror’s Edge was the third game I’ve beaten this year. It only took a short two days to play through the storyline (which was a bit welcome after the incredibly long Fallout 3 session I had). It reminded me of a second generation Oni. The controls were much better (although still not [...]

Little Wheel

Here is a very cute flash game that should take about 10 minutes to beat or so. I love the style, the music, the interaction with the player, and most of the puzzles. I had to brute force one, but maybe I just didn’t understand it. Otherwise, loved it!

Cute Looking Paper Game

Love the style of this, especially the noise as the car goes by. Too bad the walk animation isn’t synced up with the distance it goes! I’m sure that can be fixed later ;).

TF2 and Why the New Drop Sucks Ass

I have a long history with the team fortress franchise. Not nearly as long as some (I never played the original qwtf since I didn’t ever really play quake), but I’ve easily, easily played over 1000 hours of TFC and TF2 combined (114 or so in TF2). I didn’t care for a lot [...]

Introversion’s Shitty Year

I’ve been a fan of Introversion‘s for a while now for their unique style games and willingness to try new things. I don’t think I’ve ever picked up one of their games, but I like looking at them!
Well, it looks like they had a pretty shitty year in 2008. Nothing seemed to go [...]

Carmack and Wolf3D on the iPhone

This is an incredibly, incredibly interesting article if you’re into how awesome Carmack is and how his thought process is. If you at all make or like playing games (especially if you’ve done it for a while), you should read this article. It might be long, but with stuff like this, it’s worth [...]

Achievement Unlocked

Achievement Unlocked is a stupid little game, but my god does it tickle my awesome bone. It’s exactly the type of game I love to play for a couple of minutes.

Pretty awesome if you ask me. It was a fantastic game that had one of the best moments of any video game I’ve ever played (the meeting with Andrew Ryan).

30 Second RPG

It looks like there’s a Japanese game coming out in which you have to beat a mini-rpg in 30 seconds or less. What’s really cool about it is it dumbs down the rpg so the battles are incredibly quick, but the process of getting to the end is still puzzle and rpg like. [...]

Street Fighter 4

I haven’t purchased this game yet (I’m on a buy nothing, save money like crazy kick), but I was obsessed with Street Fighter 2 when I was a kid. It was easily one of my favorite games and I could play it for ages and ages and ages. Couple that with Mortal Kombat [...]

New School 2D Games

I want you to take a look at this picture. Look at the large version and tell me you wouldn’t want to play this game. The lighting, the scene, everything looks absolutely amazing. I really wish more companies would realize that 2D games are not a step backwards. They’re a style [...]

Fallout 3

I’ve been playing Fallout 3 for over 20 hours now and have come to a couple of conclusions. First, I love you Fallout 3. You’re everything I want in a video game. You’re smart, funny, customizable, bad ass, involving, and awesome. Unfortunately, you also have a couple of STDs that made [...]
