My New Happy Music
Totally different sound from Underworld, but I’m loving it.

My new happy music. Saw these guys in concert a couple of weeks ago and they were absolutely fantastic. They’re coming back on the 15th with the Shout Out Louds and I’ll probably see them again there because they were so awesome.
Listened to them a lot on my trip home this past weekend [...]
I’ve been loving Karsh Kale recently. The combination of Indian (dot, not feather) music with electronic is a pretty awesome sound. Another of my favorites is this:
Both are great and very different from stuff I’ve been listening to lately. It gives me a great adventure type of feeling, like I want to [...]
I’ve been listening to Wisp for a week straight now and absolutely loving it. It’s everything I like about electronic music and nothing I hate. This is probably one of my favorite songs of his. I highly, highly recommend you listen to it. And then buy his albums. And send [...]
Kind of long, but really, really good. I love that all of the sounds (aside from the sax of course) is made by him.
The more I learn about music, the more I think it’s math in disguise. If you look at the wavelengths of songs, you can create some pretty cool stuff knowing the math behind it. If you look at this mashup of youtube videos in b flat you can combine them in almost any [...]
Clicky! I don’t often not say anything, but I think this is best experienced with new eyes.
Really cool video of Cellist Zoe Keating making some music live using looping techniques and her Cello. I love, love, love this type of music to death.
Seeing as how BT is my favorite musician of all time, by far, it’s not surprising that I like Trifonic. I found them via Mon’s Tunes, which is run by an old Shacker I know. Needless to say, the music is amazing. What’s even better is that they released their album for [...]
Alexi Murdoch is coming to The Vera Project this Sunday. I think I’m going to go as his album is one of my favorites. It’s kind of pricey at $20, but does anyone else feel like coming? Perhaps getting some awesome food beforehand or having me cook something delicious?
Kutiman finally put the videos up on YouTube (not sure why he didn’t initially do this, maybe he thought they’d be taken down?). For those of you who didn’t get a chance to see this before because the bandwidth was all taken up, here it is.
I can’t recommend ThruYou enough. This is honestly one of the most amazing musical experiences I’ve had in quite a while. What Kutiman did was search through YouTube and then compile completely new songs out of samples, songs, notes, and random noises. It turns out to be something whole, new, and fresh. [...]
Also, I love this comment afterwards. It is both sad and epitomizes comments on youtube:
“creative but why not with a big breast woman?“
For quite a while, the music industry (and when I say that, I mainly mean the big corporations behind the RIAA) have suggested a tax on schools or on people in general that would allow them to download as much music as possible without having any consequence at all. This is a huge mistake. [...]
I don’t know when it happened exactly, but at some point I realized I don’t like Christmas music. I think it took a long time for me to realize it because I didn’t always feel that way, but I’m tired of the same 10 songs being played for a month (sometimes two these years) [...]
